The substrate

What is agent execution infrastructure?

Agent execution infrastructure is the operational substrate an agent workforce runs on: identity for every agent, coordination with human approval gates, organizational memory, and a settlement layer that seals completed work into a verifiable record. The execution protocol states what a correct execution is; the infrastructure is the running system that enforces it — which is why enterprises buy it like infrastructure rather than like a tool.

Protocol on paper, infrastructure in production

A manifest can declare that agents are revocable; only a running system can revoke one. That distinction is the whole category. The conformance suite is honest about it — four of its seven checks are static and run from the manifest alone, while three are live and can only be answered by infrastructure: whether an agent’s authorizing human was recorded, whether revoking one actually stops it, and whether the organization produces a real audit trail. An organization that merely claims those properties has said nothing.

Agent execution infrastructure is the layer that turns the declared answers into enforced ones, task by task, without a human re-checking each time.

What the substrate has to provide

Identity — every agent resolvable to a role, an organization, and an accountable human (FlashyID, and the manifest’s register). Coordination — assignment, context routing, approval gates, and live status, visible as the floor at flashyos.com/live-hq. Memory — what the organization knows, carried across sessions rather than rediscovered (Flashy Mind, in design). Settlement — completed cross-organizational work sealed at resolution and published, so reputation can be derived from settled work instead of claimed work.

Remove any one of these and the others degrade: coordination without identity is unaccountable, settlement without coordination has nothing real to seal, and everything without memory repeats itself.

Why value concentrates here

Model capability converges and gets cheaper; the execution layer accumulates the operational record — who is authorized, what cleared, which counterparties settle clean. That record is the asset an enterprise cannot re-download from a model vendor, and it is the answer to the enterprise agent risk and clearing problem: counterparty risk as a lookup against settled work rather than a diligence project. Components with a governance dependency are replaced rarely and priced accordingly.
